People respect those willing to understand a media’s use of style moreso than copying what the greater public can identify. Drawing someone as a puff over and over again often goes against that idea of the girls being these round characters in a sharp and pointy world and often why fans are often tired of seeing it. How visually fun they are to see on the screen and how they contrast to the very unique look of the girls. Half the fun of the characters in the Powerpuff Girls is how diversely drawn they are. Sure, if you wanna draw a powerpuff draw a powerpuff, but would pikachu look exactly like a powerpuff girl if they were in the show? No of course not!
It’s a problem similar to the infamous “same face syndrome.” I always loved that she had a tough side and that she hated being underestimated powerpuff girls au powerpuff girls leecheedoodles powerpuff girls fanart. Of course being in reference to the phenomena of a brand’s social media having someone “drawn in the style of the powerpuff girls” but said someone is just drawn like a Powerpuff girl.
